    Mr Simon Newman is a specialist orthopaedic surgeon with a focus on treating patients with hip problems. He is based at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre and is renowned for performing a high volume of hip replacements, hip arthroscopies, revision hip replacements, and hip injections each year. Mr Newman is dedicated to providing evidence-based therapies and actively contributes to the field through various research projects.

    Mr Newman completed his medical training at the University of Southampton and subsequently joined the North-West London orthopaedic training rotation. During this time, he earned a PhD from Imperial College London, where he focused on innovative implant coating materials and the development of patient-specific surgical guides. He further honed his skills through a hip fellowship at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital and a second fellowship at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre, specialising in keyhole hip surgery (arthroscopy) and partial knee replacement surgery, including the Oxford Partial Knee Replacement. Additionally, he received specialised training in hip dysplasia surgery at Guy's Hospital in London.

    Currently, Mr Newman co-leads the fellowship programme at his unit and serves as the Oxford adult peri-acetabular osteotomy service lead. His areas of expertise include hip replacements, hip arthroscopies, revision hip replacements, hip injections, and partial knee replacement surgery. He is also involved in hip and knee research at the University of Oxford, Imperial College London, and Bournemouth University.

    Mr Newman has authored over 60 articles and has received several awards for his contributions to orthopaedic surgery. His commitment to advancing the field through research and evidence-based practice makes him a highly respected figure in the medical community.
