"Dr Alan Doherty is a renowned urology specialist at HCA Healthcare UK, appointed in the early 2000s. He brings over 36 years of experience, with a primary focus on prostate and bladder conditions. He qualified in London before relocating to Birmingham, where he has treated prostate diseases for more than two decades.

He is an expert in prostate cancer surgery, having performed over 3,500 prostatectomies across the UK. He works closely with multi?parametric mpMRI centres to assess prostate health and is adept at a range of minimally invasive procedures. These include focal HIFU (high?intensity focused ultrasound), nerve?sparing MR LINAC prostatectomy, GreenLight laser prostatectomy, UroLift for urinary symptoms, as well as TURP and vasectomy and reversal.
